2023 Plymouth County Royalty

The Plymouth County Fair 2023 royalty was crowned Wednesday night in Pioneer Village, July 26, 2023, during a histirically hot opening ceremonies.

King Owen Schroeder and Queen Abigail Tilberg join their court: Prince Brady Allan and Caden Wurth, with Will Harpenau named Mr. Personality. The princesses are Alexa Swoyer and Desiree Breuer, with Andrea Penning named Miss Congeniality.

Schroeder, 17, of Le Mars, is the son of Rick and Stacey Schroeder. He is an 8-year member of the Union Vikings 4-H Club, which he represented in the contest.

Allan, 17, of Le Mars, is the son of Mark and Alise Allan. He represented the Classy Clovers 4-H Club, of which he has been a member for eight years. He is also a three year member of the Le Mars FFA Chapter.

Wurth, 18, of Le Mars, is the son of Chad and Angela Wurth. He also represented the Classy Clovers 4-H Club, and is a 9-year member of the club.

Harpenau, 17, of Le Mars, is the son of Jill and Chad Harpenau.

He also represented the Union Vikings 4-H Club and has been a member for eight years.

Tilberg, 18, is the daughter of Mark and Laurene Tilberg of Le Mars. She is a nine-year member of the Classy Clovers 4-H Club, which she represented in the contest.

Swoyer, 19, of Akron is the daughter of Curt and Sheila Swoyer. She represented the Akron-Westfield FFA Chapter and has been a member for five years.

Breuer, 17, is the daughter of Nick and Carmen Breuer of Merrill. She represented the Le Mars FFA Chapter and has been a member for three years.

Penning, 17, is the daughter of Talon and Anita Penning of Remsen. She represented the Union Livewires 4-H Club, and has been a member seven years.

Members of the fair court will be introduced at numerous shows and events throughout the fair. In addition, they will represent the fair at numerous parades and events during 2023 and 2023.

2022 Plymouth County Fair Royalty

The first evening of the Plymouth County Fair kicked off with the crowning of royalty in the Pioneer Village. Claire Blezek, daughter of Doug and Glenda Blezek of Le Mars, was named queen. The king is Jake Utesch, son of Doug and Jill Utsech of Kingsley.

Princes and princesses -- Lauryn Saathoff, Akron; Tessa Ellensohn, Le Mars; Miss Congeniality Alyson Ball of Remsen; Brandon Gengler of Merrill; Carson Loutsch, Remsen; and Mr. Personality Wade Fisher -- were also crowned. Congratulations to the 2022 Royalty!

McKenna Henrich is the 2021 Iowa State Fair Queen

It is with much excitement that Plymouth County celebrates the crowing of McKenna Henrich as the 2021 Iowa State Fair Queen.

Henrich is the 18-year-old daughter of Brian and Michelle Henrich. She hails from Akron, Iowa, located in western Plymouth County.

She received the honor after competing against other contestants from across the state during the 2021 Iowa State Fair, held in Des Moines.

On a warm August evening, filled with the sounds, sights and smells of one of the largest state fairs in the country, she waived to an enthusiastic crowd surrounding the Anne and Bill Riley Stage.

She was ushered on stage by the FFA State officers, and by the end of the program, she was surrounded with hugs and well-wishers.

Henrich will spend the remainder of 2021 and a portion of 2022 traveling the state promoting the Iowa State Fair.

2021 Plymouth County Fair Royalty

King Caden Schram, Mr Personality Cael Moffatt, Prince Jacob Spencer, Prince Sam Bowen, Princess Regan Peters, Queen & Miss Congeniality McKenna Henrich, and Princess Jacey Theisen



McKenna Henrich, the daughter of Brad and Michelle Henrich, represented the Akron-Westfield High School FFA, and will serve as the fair queen.

King Caden Schram, is the son of Ty and Tamara Schram. He represented the Johnson Juniors 4-H Club.

The court includes:

Regan Peters, the daughter of Chad and Shelli Peters, of Le Mars.

Jacey Thiesen, the daughter of Richard and Holly Theisen, also of Le Mars.

Sam Bowen, the son of Derek and Yvette Bowen; Le Mars.

Jacob Spencer, the son of Matt and Nicole Spencer, of Le Mars.

Cole Moffatt, the son of Brett and Beckie Moffatt, who represented the Akron-Westfield FFA.

2019 - 2020 Plymouth County Fair Royalty

The 2019 & 2020 Plymouth County Fair Royalty includes Joel Jauer, of Hinton, as the 2019 Fair King and Mr. Personality and 2019 Fair Queen Kara Albrecht, of Le Mars.

Jauer is the son of Byron and Cynthia Jauer. He represented the Lincoln Toppers 4-H Club and has been a member for nine years.

Albrecth is the daughter of Dave and Mary Albrecht. She represented the Grant Clever Clovers and has been a 4-H member for eight years.

The court also includes:

Prince Kaleb Koerselman, Le Mars, is the son of Keith and Kristin Koerselman. He represented the Grant Little Giants 4-H Club and has been a member of 4-H for eight years and FFA for three years.

Prince Carter Meinen, Akron, is the son of Casey and Jessica Meinen. He represented the Johnson Juniors 4-H Club and has been a member for seven years.

Princess Chloe Calhoun, Le Mars, is the daughter of Kevin and Christi Calhoun. She represented the Grant Clever Clovers and has been a 4-H member for eight years.

Princess and Miss Congeniality Sophia Knuth, Westfield, is the daughter of Ruth Andersen and Rob Knuth. She represented the Akron-Westfield FFA Chapter and has also been a 4-H member.
